Kids Intro to Whitewater Weekends

Get your kids paddling on whitewater this summer. This weekend course is designed for young paddlers, age 6+, who have good flat water kayaking skills and would like to try paddling on whitewater.

Paddling will take place in small groups and will be tailored to the needs of the young paddlers themselves. We pride ourselves on our caring approach to introducing young paddlers to what can at times be an intimidating activity 🙂

Dates -
  • 30/31 May 
  • 11/12 July

Duration – Five hours of paddling over the two days. There will be two paddling sessions per day, totalling 2.5 hrs.

Requirements –

  • Whitewater Ontario Member
  • Age 6+
  • Competent paddling on flatwater.
  • Confident wet exit.
  • Confident swimming in moving water.

Cost – $100 + HST

Important – Paddlers must come equipped with paddling equipment and attire that is conducive to learning to paddle on whitewater. We are happy to give advice on what equipment we have found, through experience, to be the most suitable for young paddlers. We can also offer equipment for rent for the weekend.

Equipment Rental – $100 – includes boat, paddle, skirt and helmet.
